HAS REVELATION UNFOLD?

I turned on the news the other day,
the headline was written in a bold letter
“a woman kills her husband”,
the reason being infidelity.
Some days ago before we issued blood
for life saving case,
we were told the back story,
it was horrifying, I wish I could unhear it;
a man kills his own son who barely even turned 9
along with his wife with a hammer,
then slit his own throat with a knife;
what’s worst was that he made it alive,
it was up to us to save his life;
the only question that ran through my mind was
“Does he deserve to be saved?”
but then we would be the same as him, won’t we?
Shocked by the brutality surrounding me
I looked around and it was all the same,
no humans seem to have humanity left in them,
news of people being killed sounds like the new normal,
the Bible did tell us of all that was to happen
when the end is near,
that left me wondering,
has revelation finally unfolded?
Or is it simply the cruelty and unending greed of men?

Inspired by all the current situations all around the world.

Happy readings 🙃

  1. Wow, this story broke my heart just a bit more. The stories we hear today are heartbreaking. How unfortunate that people are driven by their animal souls. How sad that the world has come to this place.
    We should try to spread a little more love, light, and happiness!
    Thank you for sharing this poignant piece.

      1. Animals may be kinder, yet they do not have the human brains and mind- which gives them less opportunities to act out and be evil..
        I still believe that we can find good people in our society, amidst all the evil and suffering. We just need to look hard enough and be the change we wish to see in the world!

      2. Well your right on that, guess that is why it is said with great power comes great responsibilities.
        I believe so too that there is still some good out there somewhere and hopefully it will come out one day.

  2. such a hard subject to write about and here Daphny.
    Poignant Question:
    “what’s worst was that he made it alive,
    it was up to us to save his life;
    the only question that ran through my mind was
    “Does he deserve to be saved?””
    Let’s just say he will suffer everyday of his life begging for mercy.
    I think it’s more than greed Daphny. I think it’s deranged beings that haven’t learned how to deal with their anger and violent feelings that keep covered up and come out in despicable criminal ways. Sooooo sad and heartbreaking!~. The news and t.v. perpetuates all of this too.. ugh.

    1. I still remember that day so well I was at donor screening room talking to our PG, we both just looked at each other shocked, the only thing we could say was we are suppose to safe his life even if we think he don’t deserve to survive. I do hope so that would give even a bit of justice to his wife and son.
      I agree with and if only we learn to be a human the world would be much better. Thank you for sharing your words. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. I stand with you on this dear. The terrible happenings around the world, especially of bloodshed leave numerous questions unanswered. Recently is also the one on the massacre of the nursery kids and two staff in Texas, done by a minor who had “bought” a gun for his birthday, and the concerned authorities are not even livid, neither is the affected US government, they won’t take the blame but spin the issue at lengths. Too sad where our world’s headed to. Maybe it’s the end of the world as you’ve said it, dear. 🥲❤

    1. Yes I heard that one, it is very much sad don’t know what might have triggered the kid to do such things but then we as adults are no good either. Even here there’s been lots of conflicts among community, don’t know when we will ever learn to live in peace and harmony. May be it is. 😥💔

  4. I’m not sure about he revelations part, we have had very gruesome times in our histories around the world. Impossible to call the time of the end. Weirdly enough, i wrote something on one of your referred cases here, though prior to reading this. I didn’t know the end till I got there. It too ended in suicide. There is a lot of unrest in the world. The young are growing up but the old are also just growing up and all competing for things that would ideally be meant for the other.

    1. We do have gruesome times and true it is impossible to call the time of the end but the world seems to be much crueler by the day. Have you posted it, I’d love to read that. I guess by how the worlds been going it is a natural instinct to write an end that way.
      I agree with you on this 100%

  5. What a poem! It poses some serious questions after the onslaught of imagery as brutal as it is. I love it as a narrative yet am broken at the same time because it is a reality . . . gorgeous blend of real and poetic!

  6. It’s hard to say, because this heinous violence we visit upon our fellows has been occurring throughout history. Take a look at any era, any century, any decade, any year, any day, and things like this are evident. Humans are violent creatures. We see so much more of it nowadays due to social media, the internet and being connected to the news 24//7. And it’s not just the violence, it’s the call to violence by evil people who spread lies and conspiracy theories to confuse and indoctrinate gullible people into becoming violent. It really feels hopeless at times, and I fear we lost our humanity long ago. But there are oases of hope and kindness in this world, and we must foster these islands of compassion and spread the love through words and deeds if we want to have any chance of continuing as a species. You put words to this dilemma very adroitly, Daphny (as you always do). Let’s keep hoping that the goodness of humanity–no matter how damaged and weakened it may be–can overcome the darkness in man’s heart.
