The iron benches,
rusted;
trees all dried up,
swings broken,
the only sound one could hear
was of the crows.
A luminous dark force present
calling out the dead,
a scarifies to be made;
a young one?
A new born?
Another innocent soul?
What was this place made of?
Not even the sound of wind could be heard
as the crows sings happily
feeding off the deadβs
that lay in the concrete of the ground.
Who comes here in this abandoned park?
Or were they all decomposed
in all the nook and corners?
It looks like the birth place of all evil,
even a wicked sound can be heard deep at night
while it feeds upon its next prey.
I think by now you all are quite aware of my love for horrors and thrillers, I can’t help myself from writing haha… This particular poem is inspired by a park near my sister’s house where I spend most of my time when I went to visit her last year. The place early morning is awfully quite and there’s always so many crows flying around giving me a perfect inspiration. π
Happy readings π
There’s definitely a level of creepiness about an empty playground, maybe swing chains creaking in the breeze or a murder of crows perched on the swing set (isn’t that a cool term for a bunch of crows? A murder!). You nailed the dark atmosphere and made me never want to visit this particular park alone! π It’s so fun to know you enjoy horror. I hope to see more forays into the dark stuff from you. Highly entertaining and well written. π

Haha… This particular playground has all criteria tick for creepiness, the crow was a cherry on top. I’d sit there alone and darn those crows can inspire a horror lover π Ahh some are on the way no worries, I’ve written one as well based on my experience its in my older post. Thank you so much Mike for your constant support and kind words. π

Certainly. Your love for horrors is on another level, Daph. And this piece proves to it. You’ve created a perfect scene here and I love it. I am amazed at how I could clear picture it in my mind. This is a stunning description, dear. ββ€β

Somehow I hate all of the creepy thrillers but yours is an exception so congrats on roping me in. Maybe it’s your vivid imagery of words that capture but not overtake my soul. The bats have been flying overhead when I enter that hot tub so now I might be more freaked out after reading this. lol π

You know dear Daphny… You are a very unique poetess… It’s not easy to bring creepiness, fear and ghostly environment in a poem… You are doing that! Hats off! You should think of a single book in Horror poems. Will discuss together the name of the book too.. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

I’m afraid of the crows croaking. When they come together and make noise, there is a strange realization that something bad is going to happen.π
