PERFECTLY IMPERFECT

Picture taken by my cousin Biak Props

You’re thin, you’re fat;
you’re tall, you’re short;
you’re dark, you look too pale;
you’re pretty, you’re ugly;
you’re loud, you’re quite;
why does it matter?
Some are born in golden platter,
some other earn to survive a day;
some still struggles,
some became a millionaire,
the rest a commoner.
Why can’t you be more like them?
The question we all despise,
the main source of our insecurities.
Let’s break the barrier now
leave no room for judgements in mind,
for each one is unique,
no two were made the same;
it is time to live in your terms,
not in fear of what one would say,
for you are perfectly imperfect
just the way you are.

Perfection, the one thing we all longed for I am also part of that but as I got older I’ve learned that my imperfections makes me who I am and that is what perfection is. 💝

Happy readings 🙃

  1. Oh Daph, what a talking piece, replete with truth and sensible facts! You’ve certainly captured my heart with this. You have said, and I quote,

    “Let’s break the barrier now, leave no room for judgements in mind, for each one is unique, no two were made the same; it is time to live in your terms, not in fear of what one would say, for you are perfectly imperfect just the way you are.”

    Now, that is one of the coolest and very reasonable quotes I’ve read this week. You’re simply amazing, inside out. Look at that photo! Nature’s got some real beauty indeed. 😘❤❤

  2. How this resonates with me. And how powerful and empowering it is! Our uniqueness makes us all perfect in our own ways. I wish the world would finally realize this and stop pushing its own unattainable standards on us, which only leads to feelings of inferiority, low self-esteem and a sense of failure. Keep shining your wonderful light, Daphny. This is indeed a perfect poem from a perfect person. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Mike and I am glad to know you resonate with this one, I too wish if this world would finally stop putting their opinions on us and make us live in peace the way we are. I guess this poem was much needed even for me. 🙂
