Met them during a virus breakout,
never expected to form a bond so strong;
as we were just a bunch of strangers
coming together due to a pandemic,
who knew what was to happen.

Days went by,
it never got any easier.
Exhaustion and anxieties we shared
with no one to confide in,
sweats dipping off our clothes,
not a single day off.
We work tired and drained;
becoming each other’s cheer leader;
unexpected friendships began to form,
new yet very strong.

Scientist, Researchers & Laboratory technicians(This is not all of us)

Months went by, our roads detached;
but I couldn’t be happier to have found
a friend, sister, brother and mentor in each of them.
With them I’ve faced the worst,
and in them I found comfort during my terrors.

I still remember so vividly the first day I went to work, just to paint you a clearer picture I got a job on 2020 at a Govt. Hospital due to Covid. It was the first wave everyone was scared so was I and having to put on PPE and do covid testing was terrifying but with this amazing people by my side it all went well. I am blessed to meet them and have an opportunity to work with. They are the best thing that came out of coronavirus and I’m grateful for it.

  1. Thanks, Daphny, for all you’ve done in this extremely difficult and frightening time. I have a friend who’s an RN and he’s experienced it all in the past two years with regards to Covid, including finally catching the virus himself (he’s okay). Front-line healthcare workers like you and my friend are true heroes. Please stay safe and well, and thanks again for risking your life to save others. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words Mike. Your friend worked for a long time and glad to know he’s okay. By God’s grace I don’t have the virus so far and my time on covid testing was cut short to 8 months as I got transferred to another dept. somewhere after the first wave and before the second. Stay safe you too and thank you once again for your kind words. πŸ˜‡πŸŒΈ
