FACELESS SHADOW

Walking down the old dark street
I saw a shadow looming,
one that looked like no other.
With my heart pounding
I took a step forward,
with a hope to get a closer look,
and get clarity of what it really was;
but as I got nearer,
it started to disappear
slowly into the dark of the night.
Just before it vanished,
it gave me a cold glance;
a shadow with no face on it.
I stood still trembling in fear,
and watched it disappear.
I still remember vividly
how every second went by that night
and it still haunts me to this day;
the faceless shadow that I once saw
on that night in that old dark street.

It’s Halloween and I simply can’t help myself so here’s something a bit spooky I wrote which actually happened to me many years back, hope you enjoy reading it. 🙂
