I tried my best and stayed,
stayed as long as I could,
but the weight,
I couldn’t bear it anymore.

Day by day I lost sight of who I was,
who I became I couldn’t recognize.
Felt like I was pushed down a tunnel
with no air to breath;
or a bird with no wings to fly.

It was my mistake,
I simply forgot to love myself,
while trying to love you.
You aren’t a bad guy,
but I just wasn’t for you;

I was meant to spread my wings and fly,
until I meet the one
who would reach for the sky with me.

Two good people aren’t necessarily good for each other, sometimes they can turn out to be toxic for each other. 💘

#Can’t thank my friend Art Of Sketchers for providing me his amazing sketch 😇

  1. This is such a beautiful poem, Daphny. We’ve all been there, and it is so true what you write; that, we need to take care of ourselves, love ourselves, and that the person that will make the right fit with us, will come…beautiful work, my dear friend. ❤❤❤
