Before I post anything else in my blog I just want to quickly sum up how my journey began and thank everyone for being with me through it all.
Being more of an introvert kid growing up, it was hard. I didnβt know how to express my feelings and emotions physically or verbally. That is how I found comfort in writing. It helped me express myself with no limitations and made me feel free.
I remember writing short stories with my friend Biakkim in school back when I was 14. We would write them even during classes, those memories were honestly one of the best of my high school life. My passion for writing was even more fueled after I was introduced to the works of Christina Rossetti, Robert Frost and the sonnets of William Shakespeare.
By the time I was 18 I had already written several poems but I never had the confidence to show them to anyone. Nevertheless, I still kept writing. But along the way, the pressure of choosing a stable career path and other aspects of my life took priority and I lost touch with my younger self who was this passionate writer.
Several of the poems you will be reading in my blog are the refined versions of the ones I wrote many years back. Though some changes to the poem have been made, I made sure to keep true to the essence of the poem that was written by the amateur yet very passionate young writer. I know thereβs still room for improvements in my writing but this is just the beginning and one day I hope to write much better. From now on thereβs no turning back. Hopefully itβs the start of a wonderful journey for me as a writer, one Iβve always dreamt of. I hope you enjoy reading the poems as much as I loved writing them.
A big thank you to my sister Mercy and brother-in-law Joseph for being my biggest cheerleaders and for always having my back. Khovei, a dear friend and also my editor, the person who inspired me to write again, I am grateful to have a friend like you. Thank you for always sparing me your time and for being my best and worst critic. Ranjan, a friend and colleague who helped me set up this site, thank you for believing that Iβm good enough to have a blog of my own. My best friend Lynda, thank you for always being there for me. You balance me out with your βextrovertednessβ and I canβt think of a better pair than us. My cousins and my friends whose names if I start to mention will have no end, thank you all for the support and love you have shown me.
Happy reading! π

Looking forward for more of yours….
I would recommend writing poems of nature and the connection with human, romantic poems.

I so relate to this. I’m an introverted writer too. Come to think of it, most writers I know are introverted. Guess it has become one of the strengths of introvertsπ

Haha… Thats true. Since we dont usually know how to share to others most of us prefer to just write it down it guess π

All the best to you, Daphny Dearest. Keep going.
May I suggest you take a look at the _ in name of this blog. Use only lowercase letters (a-z) or numbers. Remove _
To understand what I mean, (what I see) give yourself a LIKE. then click on yourself to see where it lands you.
Easy fix (maybe) or ask your friend to help.
Hope pointing this out helps. I want you to grow. All the best.

I can honestly relate to being an introvert and writing poetries but the best one was your acknowledgment of the people who supported you. I love how you talk about your best friend. I had one just like that, unfortunately, I lost her 2 years ago due to illness. And havenβt found someone as real as her again. Ofcourse I have my family but I miss her a lot. I pray that the people you have right now who support you, stay with you throuhgout β₯οΈπ

All said perfectly. It never too late to follow your dream. Yeah, we sometimes mix our passions with abilities, but ones we spot the demarcations the way you’ve done, we can then learn the rule of balance and go all the way filling up our past voids. Your story makes it true to say that all noble dreams are valid and that however long it takes, we can still achieve our aspirations. The many writings you made in high school and the support of friends shows well that you were born a writer. Live it every new day, darling. π₯βπ
